PROJECTproject’s Sean Tabares & Julie Dumais have just each been nominated for a 2010 Canadian Comedy Award (as Best Male Improvisor and Best Female Improviser, respectively)!  The awards aren’t handed out until October, giving them both plenty of time to walk around like they own the place.  In the meantime, if you are a registered industry voter with the Canadian Comedy Association, vote for them!  Or don’t!  Nobody’s your boss.

Hey all,

I dont have much time, we are about to head out to Parliament after cleaning Cari’s apartment from the whirlwind that is this project! The show last night was so much fun, it felt like being a little kid with how much playing there was on stage. I love all of the people in this project they are some of the best people in Canada. AND they are hooked into the other best people in their respective cities. I can even begin to describe how thankful I am to all of the fantastic people who are helping make this dream project come true, and keep it going!

Hellooooooooooo tender readers!

Justin and I are sitting on a air mattress in Cari Leslie’s cute apartment. She has draped lovely silks from the ceiling and has prepared some of the most decadent (vegan) bread dips, etc. Also, she has at least 4 different instrumental versions of the 90s smash hit “Sexual Healing” playing. Tim stands before us gyrating his hips to and fro. He looks like a 14 year old persian trying to seduce a middle aged woman at a modestly priced nightclub.

All of these lovely things seem to be heightened by the fact that we JUST SPENT 16 HOURS IN VANNA.  DRIVING FROM CHICAGO ALL THE WAY TO HERE (OTTAWA).

Crossing the border back into Canada = SUPER EASY.

Chicago was amazing. AMAZING, PEOPLE. So amazing. We got to see a free show at the IO (The Improv Olympic) (LEGENDARY) and it was totally too cool. There was an all woman group called ‘Virgin Daiquiri’ who were nothing short of inspiring on stage. They had fire and attack and a balls to the wall attitude that made me wanna dance on the tables and yell OHHHH YEEEAAAHHH, LADIES RULE.

After that we did a 15 minute show at a venue called The Playground. Our show in Chicago had character. An experience. VERY FUNNY. A story to tell the children!

Leaving right after our show, we literally drove all of last night and half of today to get to Cari. Who is wonderful.

We’re sleepy. BUT PUMPED FOR DA SHOW TONITE.
